international-submarine-races-300x2312The International Submarine Race (ISR) was conceived as an engineering competition to foster engagement in the ocean engineering and science disciplines by young students. This was to address the developing shortfall in maritime engineering and sciences necessary for the economic success of participating nations. ISR has had 297 teams building 231 submarines to date. The teams are comprised of contestants from 9 countries and include universities, high schools, individuals and research labs. Awards are given out at each ISR, including: best overall performance, innovation, speed by category, best use of composite materials and spirit of the race.

Serve Our Willing Warriors — 2012-present

For over seven years, SOWW’s mission has been to create a growing coalition of aware, engaged and supportive individuals, companies and communities that provides ongoing support to wounded, ill and injured warriors and their families through sponsoring “Willing Warrior” hospital events and peaceful, restorative “Warrior Getaways” at our Bull Run Warrior Retreat. “We want our warriors and families to feel the gratitude and pride of an entire region when they stay as our honored guests at the retreat that was created just for them.  We want them to know that we stand beside them while they heal, reconnect with their families, and continue to serve our great country as our most patriotic citizens. “

ThanksUSA – 2008-present

ThanksUSA’s mission is to provide college, technical and vocational school need-based scholarships to the children and spouses of US military personnel. Since 2006, ThanksUSA has awarded nearly 3,400 scholarships with a total value of over $10 million. As a supporter of ThanksUSA’s mission to provide scholarships to our nation’s heroes, Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry came on as a National Spokesperson in 2010.  In 2011, Stephen and his wife, Ayesha Alexander, asked their wedding guests to support our scholarship program by sending donations to ThanksUSA in lieu of gifts. 90% of donations go directly to the Scholarship Program.
